Phil is Director of Developer Experience at Netlify.

With a passion for browser technologies and the empowering properties of the web, he loves seeking out ingenuity and simplicity, especially in places where over-engineering is common.

Over 25 years of building web applications for companies such as Google, Apple, Nike, R/GA, and The London Stock Exchange, Phil has worked to challenge traditional technical architectures in favour of simplicity and effectiveness.

Phil is co-author of “Modern Web Development on the Jamstack” (O’Reilly, 2019).

Ashley Baxter – Jack

Ashley Baxter is currently building Jack, business insurance on a first name basis. She is also Director of Brokers Direct. Ashley likes video games, photography, and her dog, Indie. She is based in Glasgow, Scotland.

Ian Feather – BuzzFeed

Website

Ian leads the front end infrastructure team at BuzzFeed working on performance, testing, automation and resilience. He is particularly fond of working on problems relating to scale: both of sites and of teams.

His background is in Front End Web Development and it’s only in recent years that he has stepped away from feature development to focus on Front End Infrastructure. He is a big fan of continuous delivery and creating a safe environment to push code quickly and easily. Prior to BuzzFeed he worked for Schibsted Media, Lonely Planet and Burberry.

Jake Archibald – Google

Jake is developer advocate for Google Chrome. He’s one of the editors of the service worker spec, so he’s into offline-first, push messaging, and web performance.

Peter Gasston – rehabstudios

Website

Peter is a veteran web developer who now works as a technologist at rehabstudio on projects for clients including Google and Facebook, and in partnership with some of the world’s biggest creative agencies. He’s the author of The Book of CSS3 and The Modern Web, and has written for Net Magazine, Smashing Magazine and A List Apart.

Rachel Andrew – Perch

Rachel Andrew is a front and back-end web developer, author and speaker. Author or co-author of 22 books including The New CSS Layout and a regular contributor to a number of publications both on and offline.

Rachel is co-founder of the CMS Perch, Editor in Chief of Smashing Magazine, a Google Developer Expert and an Invited Expert to the CSS Working Group. She writes about business and technology on her own site at rachelandrew.co.uk.

Una Kravets – Bustle

Una Kravets is an international speaker, technical writer, open source advocate, and Director of Product Design at Bustle. She’s written for various online publications such as A List Apart, 24 Ways, Smashing Magazine, and Sitepoint. Una also co-hosts the Toolsday podcast and started both the DC and Austin Sass Meetups. She's a performance nerd, loves the open source community and listens to way too many audio books.
