Phil is Director of Developer Experience at Netlify.

With a passion for browser technologies, and the empowering properties of the web, he loves seeking out ingenuity and simplicity, especially in places where over-engineering is common.

After more than 20 years of building web applications for companies such as Google, Apple, Nike, R/GA, and The London Stock Exchange, Phil has worked to challenge traditional technical architectures in favour of simplicity and effectiveness.

Phil is co-author of “Modern Web Development on the Jamstack” (O’Reilly, 2019).

Andy BellSet Studio


Andy is a designer and front-end developer who founded Set Studio: an agency who specialise in producing extremely creative websites and campaigns.

Andy has also spent well over a decade specialising in simplifying CSS to make it scale-up for design system projects—in some cases, accessible to millions of people—for some of the largest organisations in the world, such as Google, Harley-Davidson, Vice Media and the NHS. Cassidy WilliamsRemote


Cassidy loves to make memes and dreams and software. She's currently the Head of Developer Experience and Education at Remote, and has worked for a variety of companies, large and small, advises startups, and she's had the honor of working with various non-profits.

She's active in the developer community, and one of Glamour Magazine's 35 Women Under 35 Changing the Tech Industry and LinkedIn's Top Professionals 35 & Under. As an avid speaker, Cassidy has participated in many events including the Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing, TEDx, the United Nations, and hundreds of other technical events. She wants to inspire generations of STEM students to be the best they can be, and her favorite quote is from Helen Keller: "One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar." She loves mechanical keyboards and karaoke.

Emily CresseySketch


Emily is a Product Designer at Sketch, specialising in all things design systems.

Her 8 years in tech has traversed both front-end development and product design — leading teams and working with clients such as Wall Street Journal and Clinique.

Today Emily's main focus is understanding designers like herself, and making their lives easier by improving the tools they use to create and maintain a successful design system.

Jhey TompkinsGoogle


Jhey is a web developer making awesome things for awesome people. He helps other developers level up their skills with creative coding. Known for his whimsical creations, ability to context switch, and solve complex problems. He's worked with and for names such as Nike, Monzo, NearForm, and Uber.

Jhey creates hundreds (not exaggerated) of demos over on CodePen and is an author for publications such as CSS Tricks && Smashing Magazine.

Joanne Imlay


Joanne is a software engineer, specialising in React and React Native. Her favourite thing about web development is that there's always something new to learn. Every day's a school day. More recently, she has gone back to her teaching roots at Northcoders.

Stephanie StimacMicrosoft


Stephanie is a design technologist with a passion for developer relations. She's currently a Program Manager on the Microsoft Edge Developer Experiences team leading developer evangelism with a focus on design and front-end web platform capabilities.

She also leads the Web We Want, a cross browser and cross company initiative that at its core, acts as a community driven backlog of missing developer tools and web platform capabilities.

She comes from a background in visual and user experience design and has been tinkering on the web for the last 18 years. When not online, she's usually plotting her way back to Scotland or biking in the pacific northwest or the Sonoran desert, depending on the time of year.
